Julia not only loves cooking and writing about food, she also loves talking about it.

She regularly travels for media appearances, to speak about her work, sit on panels, moderate conversations, and do cooking demonstrations around the country.

Julia has spoken at the New York Times’ The Times Center, the Smithsonian’s Food History Weekend, the 92nd Street Y, the Culinary Institute of America, The Great Big Jewish Food Festival, the Just Food Conference, the Southern Foodways Alliance, with Harvard University Students, and with groups of young girls from Girls Inc. She has interviewed Ina Garten, Samin Nosrat, Dr. Jessica B. Harris, Ruth Reichl, Michael Twitty, and many more in front of live audiences.

She hosted the first two seasons of the celebrated, Radio Cherry Bombe on Heritage Radio, featuring live interviews with some of the most interesting women in the world of food.

Julia also frequently speaks about issues connected to food equity at conferences and in interviews, whether it's panels she moderates for institutions like the Smithsonian National Museum of History or in conversations on her podcast Keep Calm and Cook On.
