Julia Turshen is New Yorks Times bestselling author. Her latest cookbook, Simply Julia, is a National Bestseller and has received praised from The New York Times, Vogue, Eater, and many more. Vice President Kamala Harris even picked up at a local bookstore! Simply Julia has also received love from people like Roxane Gay, Jennifer Garner, Carla Hall, and Antoni Porowski.

Julia is also the author of Now & Again (named the Best Cookbook of 2018 by Amazon and an NPR ‘Great Read’), Feed the Resistance (named the Best Cookbook of 2017 by Eater), and Small Victories (named one of the Best Cookbooks of 2016 by the New York Times and NPR).

Julia hosts, produces, and edits the IACP-nominated podcast ‘Keep Calm & Cook On.’ The New York Times has called the podcast “an antidote to diet culture” and “a great reminder of how food intersects with just about every other aspect of life, including mental health, relationships and race.” Guests have included Roxane Gay, Aubrey Gordon, Jia Tolentino, Ashley C. Ford, Dorie Greenspan, and many more.

Julia has coauthored numerous cookbooks and has written for The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Bon AppétitFood & WineSaveur, and more. 

Epicurious has called her one of the 100 Greatest Home Cooks of All Time and The New York Times has described her “at the forefront of the new generation of authentic, approachable authors.”

Julia sits on the Kitchen Cabinet Advisory Board for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, is a member of God’s Love We Deliver’s Culinary Council, and is the founder of Equity At The Table (EATT), an inclusive digital directory of women and non-binary individuals in food.

Julia lives in the Hudson Valley with her spouse Grace and their pets. She teaches cooking classes online most Sundays at 2p EST.
